New Collections Open in AIMH: Historical Photographs of Academia Sinica (3454 volumes) and Digital Files of the Department of Agricultural Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (1880 volumes)

1. Historical Photographs of Academia Sinica
          This batch of photographs was collected by Academia Sinica in 2008 for its 80th anniversary, and includes group photos of convocation of academicians, Academia Sinica Council, general assembly, comprehensive conferences, as well as the early buildings of the Nankang campus. Originally an independent database, its catalog and digital images are now being integrated into the online system of the Archives, and cross-referenced with existing historical materials of Academia Sinica and personal papers of former presidents in the collection, to provide readers with a more comprehensive understanding of Academia Sinica's history.
(1) These photos range from 1948 to 2006 and contain 3,454 volumes.

2. Digital Files of the Department of Agricultural Affairs 農事司, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
          This is the first-year result of a three-year digital humanities project "Agriculture as the Foundation: ROC Agricultural Economy Value-added Project (1940-1949) ". As a department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, its files cover issues such as personnel information, agricultural conditions, irrigation projects, and farm stations in various Chinese provinces, particularly in the period 1940-1949. In addition to digitization, this project annotates names and places, which can be used by readers for cross-referencing with other existing collections, facilitating in-depth agricultural and economic history research, particularly for the wartime period.
(1) This collection ranges from 1934 to 1949, and contains 1,880 volumes.
